Christmas is coming. You can already hear the jingle bells of Santa’s sleigh, the cheerful laughter of children, and the joyful crunching of snowy snow under your feet. But even though Christmas is approaching us rapidly, you still have enough time to prepare for its arrival. Here are some tips on how you can make it come faster:
Put up a Christmas tree
Nothing says that it’s Christmas time better than the sight of a beautiful, sparkling Christmas tree in your home. Decorate it with all sorts of different ornaments and hang some shiny decorations on its branches to make your home look festive. Don’t forget the presents underneath.
Make a gingerbread house
This is another fun and festive activity to do during Christmas time. Not only will it keep you busy, but it will also make your home smell wonderfully like gingerbread cookies. And the best part is that you can eat it afterward.
Watch Christmas movies
There’s nothing quite like watching your favorite Christmas movies to get you into the holiday spirit. Pop in a DVD of your favorite Christmas movie, make yourself a cup of hot chocolate and snuggle up on the couch to enjoy.
Sing Christmas carols or listen to Christmas music
Christmas music is one of my favorite things about the holiday season. Find your favorite Christmas songs and sing along as loud as you can with the windows open. You can also listen to them on your mp3 player as you walk around town, decorate your house or do some other Christmas activities.
Another great way to get into the Christmas spirit is by listening to some cheerful Christmas music. Turn on your stereo, put on some Christmas songs and sing along. If you don’t like Christmas music, listen to your favorite playlist or make a new one on your mp3 player.
Decorate your house
One of the best things about Christmas is all of the decorations. Get out your boxes of ornaments, lights, garland and tinsel and start decorating your house. Not only will it make it look pretty, but it will also help to get you into the Christmas spirit.
There are lots of fun ways to get creative during Christmas time. Make a few Christmas crafts, such as bead-decorated ornaments or beautiful home-made cards for your loved ones. You can also make some pretty decorations out of pine cones and branches from outside if you need to save money.
Admire Christmas lights around town
Christmas wouldn’t be the same without all of the beautiful Christmas lights. Go for a walk around your neighborhood to see all of the beautiful displays, or drive around and admire them from your car. If you’re feeling adventurous, go on a Christmas light tour.
Set up a Christmas table
If you’re hosting a Christmas party, be sure to set up a beautiful Christmas table. Decorate it with candles, holly, bows and all sorts of other festive decorations. Serve your guests some delicious Christmas food and drinks and they’ll be sure to have a good time.

It’s never too soon to start shopping for Christmas presents. Start by making a list of all the people you need to buy for and then start looking for the perfect gifts. You don’t have to spend a lot of money, as there are plenty of great DIY gifts that you can make yourself.

As you all gather around in anticipation to see whose house will have the best tree ornaments, break out the popcorn, candy and cookies, and get ready to watch a movie that will put you right in the holiday spirit.

Participate in festive traditions
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without all of our favorite festive traditions. Watch people ice-skating, go caroling, roast chestnuts on an open fire, read your Christmas-themed books or stories, etc.
Enjoy some hot chocolate or cocoa
Nothing is cozier than sipping on a warm mug of hot cocoa. Make a big batch of it and enjoy it with your friends and family. You can also add some peppermint extract, mini marshmallows or other fun ingredients to make it even more festive.
Take a winter walk in the snow
If you’re lucky enough to live in a place where it snows, go outside and enjoy a winter walk. Bundle up in your warmest clothes and boots, put on a scarf and hat and head outside. The snow is so beautiful and it’s a lot of fun to play in.
Give out holiday cards
One of my favorite festive traditions is sending out holiday cards. Start making them early and take your time with them. Personalize them for each of your friends and family members and include a little note or story. It’s a great way to let them know that you’re thinking about them during the holiday season.
Visit Santa Claus
One of the best things about Christmas is getting to visit Santa Claus in his workshop. If you live near a mall or a department store, ask your parents if you can go and sit on Santa’s lap. He’ll ask you what you want for Christmas and tell him that all of your presents have been good this year.
Go to church
Christmas wouldn’t be the same without attending church services. It’s a great time to reflect on the holiday season and spend some time in prayer. Plus, the choir always has some beautiful Christmas music to sing.
Give back to those in need
One of the best things about Christmas is that it’s a time to give back to those who are less fortunate. There are so many ways to do this, from donating money or clothes to volunteering your time. It’s a wonderful feeling to help those in need and it’s sure to get you into the Christmas spirit.
